The Australian Avocado -
The Jillaroo products were inspired by the Australian cowgirls, which are known as Jillaroos. As they are out in the sun and weather on a daily basis, Y Not Natural formulated a product with organic Australian avocados that would nurture the skin in extreme conditions.
The Australian avocado is a rich fruit that has an abundance of antioxidants including high percentages of mono-unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins A, B, and D and lecithin.
Australian avocado has excellent keeping qualities because of an inbuilt antioxidant system.
Research by Valette and Sorbin reported that avocado oil had "the highest rate of skin penetration and the ability to transport active substances through the outer epidermis of the skin and into the dermis for increased effectiveness.
Adding Vitamin E
The beneficial use of vitamins in general and specifically vitamin E, continues to be an active area in dermatology and cosmetic science. A major skincare challenge for using vitamin E (α-tocopherol) has been to keep it stable in formulations.
The most common approach has been to use the ester α-tocopherol acetate. Although it is more stable, it has a different efficacy profile than vitamin E. In consideration of this, Y Not Natural has formulated Vital ET®, which focuses on a phosphorylated form, tocopheryl phosphate, which scientific evidence shows is a naturally occurring form of vitamin E.
Our Vital ET® is particularly effective for sensitive skin in anti-acne, anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, scalp and hair treatment applications.
There were many challenges to formulate a product such as this, as the cream needs to penetrate the upper layers of the skin. This penetration is possible because of the avocado's invaluable penetrating and emollient properties. There is simply nothing better for dry and wrinkled skin, burns and sunburns.
